Duty solicitor recruitment
Bring the right practitioner and the right firm together.
Specialist recruitment for salaried, part-time and consultancy arrangements, handled against the practical demands of rota work and criminal legal aid.
For duty solicitors
Discuss options in confidence.
We can help if you are considering a salaried move, part-time work, a consultancy arrangement or a change of firm. We will ask about the practical points early.
- Current accreditation and scheme details
- Preferred working pattern and office base
- Police station and court coverage
- Out-of-hours expectations
- Salary, retainer, rate or fee-share structure
- Supervision, caseload and administrative support
For firms
Set out a workable requirement.
Tell us whether you need a new joiner, additional rota capacity, succession cover or broader criminal department support. Clear terms and a genuine working relationship attract stronger candidates.
- Employment or consultancy structure
- Minimum attendance and engagement expectations
- Rota and CRM12 timing
- Responsibility for files and supervision
- Payment structure and expenses
- Long-term prospects for the practitioner
Current framework
Use the official guidance for rota decisions.
The 2025 Standard Crime Contract runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2035. The Legal Aid Agency publishes current rota dates, CRM12 requirements and change notifications. Recruitment arrangements should be checked against the contract and the latest official guidance.
Important
Recruitment support, not regulatory advice.
We help firms and practitioners find each other and discuss the commercial and practical terms of a role. Each party remains responsible for checking the contract, accreditation, employment, tax, supervision and rota implications of any arrangement and should take professional advice where necessary.
